Protecting Israel's Airspace

Researchers from the Faculty of Engineering at Tel Aviv University (TAU) have developed a groundbreaking technology to identify hostile drones in any weather conditions, thereby protecting Israel's airspace. The new technology uses electromagnetic "identity cards" which will determine if drones are hostile or friendly. Previous methods relied on cameras, which often fail in extreme weather. READ MORE


Jerusalem Fortification: Newly Discovered Biblical Moat

The upper sections of the Temple Mount and the Ophel (the area between the City of David and the Temple Mount) in Jerusalem were discovered after 150 years of searching, by a team led by Professor Yuval Gadot from TAU's Jacob M. Alkow Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Cultures and the Israel Antiquities Authority. The route of Jerusalem's northern fortification was uncovered during excavations in a parking lot in the City of David. READ MORE


Speaking with Your Thoughts

Researchers from TAU's School of Medicine and Health Sciences and Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center–Ichilov Hospital have developed a way to let silent people speak using only their thoughts. Using electrodes implanted in the brain, the subject transmitted the brain's electrical signals to a computer, which then vocalized the syllables. These findings offer hope for enabling people who are completely paralyzed — due to conditions such as ALS, brainstem stroke, or brain injury — to regain the ability to speak voluntarily. READ MORE


Helping Student Reservists

TAU has been the leader among Israeli universities in supporting student reservists since October 7th. It recently announced a second round of assistance in its special admissions terms for reservists. First-year students commencing their studies in the coming academic year, who have served at least 30 days in the reserves since the beginning of 2024, will be entitled to a tuition discount of NIS 2,500, approximately 25% of total tuition fees. TAU estimates that more than 500 reservists who are expected to start their freshman year in November will be entitled to this benefit. READ MORE

The company is working with manufacturers like Coca-Cola to help them understand and see what is happening on the retail shelf in the physical store, digitizing three and a half million stores in 83 countries on a monthly basis.
