Drug Delivery Breakthrough

Professor Dan Peer, Vice President for Research and Development at Tel Aviv University (TAU) and a pioneer in the development of mRNA therapeutics, led a team that has successfully delivered mRNA-based drugs to the intestine without passing through the liver. A major breakthrough in drug delivery, the new method may enable more effective treatments for inflammatory diseases such as Crohn's and colitis. READ MORE


For a Righteous Cause

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, TAU published "For A Righteous Cause," an important report which reviews initiatives to combat antisemitism and promote Holocaust education. The report notes that, amidst the global rise of antisemitism, new museums commemorating the Holocaust and heroism are being built in the Muslim world. This is important because the construction and activities have continued since the October 7th massacre. To read the report, CLICK HERE


Coral Reef Destruction

A team of researchers led by Dr. Omri Bronstein from TAU's George S. Wise Faculty of Life Sciences and Steinhardt Museum of Natural History has discovered that a pathogen responsible for the mass deaths of sea urchins along the Red Sea coast is the same one responsible for mass mortality events among sea urchins off the coast of Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean. This finding raises fears that the pathogen could spread further, to the Pacific Ocean. The researchers are now spearheading an international effort to track the disease and preserve sea urchins, which play a crucial role in the health of coral reefs. READ MORE

Professor Yaron Yehezkel of TAU's Coller School of Management used mathematical tools from game theory to show that, in certain situations, allowing platforms to retain decision-making power over the collection and commercialization of their users' data can enhance overall social welfare despite privacy concerns. The surprising study was conducted in collaboration with Professor Sarit Markovich from Northwestern University. READ MORE

Greylock, the investment partnership firm located in San Francisco, has welcomed TAU alumna Mor Chen as their newest partner. Mor, who will focus on partnering with early-stage Israeli founders particularly in cybersecurity and enterprise AI, was born and raised in Israel and served in the IDF 8200 unit. She was part of a small group that worked closely with the commander, who founded the cybersecurity unit within 8200. Mor studied electrical engineering, computer science, and statistics at TAU.
